20 MB source · one new PDF · up to 2000 pages

Start with one PDF

Choose a preset or maximum size and create a smaller PDF. Your original stays available. No signup needed for Free processing.

A target size or preset for your document

Set a maximum output size for an upload limit. The saved file must fit your target; otherwise no output is saved. Best quality prioritizes image detail. Balanced is the everyday default. Smaller file reduces image detail more strongly for easier sharing. Text and vectors stay in the PDF.

Measured results and safe limits

Image-heavy and scanned PDFs often benefit most. Already optimized documents may not shrink. If no smaller PDF can be made, no duplicate output is stored or charged.

Keep your original

Compress existing PDFs directly from Files without uploading again. Successful outputs get normal preview, download, rename, delete and plan-based sharing, linked to their source. Guest results stay available for 24 hours.

Simple, static PDFs

Use an unlocked PDF without forms, scripts or attachments. Safety limits apply to file size, page count and embedded images. Compression preserves page order and geometry; it does not edit pages or remove passwords.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compress a PDF to 2 MB?

Choose Target size and enter 2 MB when it is within the supported range for your source. A successful download is at or below 2,097,152 bytes. If safe quality limits prevent that size, no output is saved; try a larger target or a preset.

Does compression replace my original?

No. The result is a separate file. Signed-in results keep source history in Files; guest downloads remain available for 24 hours.
