Convert Excel to CSV
Turn an Excel worksheet into a clean CSV file while keeping the original workbook unchanged.
No account needed for Free conversion.
Up to 20 MB · one worksheet → UTF-8 CSV · 100,000 rows / 256 columns / 1 million cells
Start with one Excel workbook
Choose one worksheet. Styles stay in the original workbook; formula-looking text is protected in the CSV. No account needed for Free conversion.
One worksheet, portable values
Rows, columns, Unicode, text leading zeros and empty cells are preserved. Dates and booleans use documented values. Formulas are never recalculated; CSV does not preserve formatting.
Private files, connected history
Files are processed in an isolated worker with bounded resources. Signed-in users keep workbook and CSV together in Files. Share links require an eligible plan and your explicit action.
Common questions
How does Excel to CSV work?
Upload one XLSX workbook, choose a worksheet when needed, then download its rows and columns as a new CSV.
What happens if my workbook has multiple sheets?
Choose one worksheet. Dislify preserves sheet order and labels hidden sheets. A single visible worksheet is selected automatically; hidden worksheets need an explicit choice.
Does CSV preserve formulas?
Formulas are never evaluated. Stored cached values are exported. If a formula has no cached result, recalculate and save the workbook in Excel first. Formula-looking text receives an apostrophe prefix for safer spreadsheet reopening.
Are styles and colors preserved?
CSV stores table values only. Formatting, styles, charts, images, comments and workbook metadata remain in the source XLSX.
Does my original Excel file change?
No. The CSV is a separate file with source history. Guest downloads are available for 24 hours under Free retention.
Are hidden rows included?
Yes. Stored values in hidden rows and columns are included. Merged cells export the top-left stored value, with the other merged cells blank.
What delimiter does Dislify use?
Comma by default, with semicolon, tab and pipe options. Output uses UTF-8 with BOM, standard quoting and CRLF line endings.
Can I convert the CSV back to Excel?
Yes, use CSV to Excel. Text leading zeros survive; numbers and dates are serialized deterministically. CSV cannot restore workbook formatting or formulas.
